fire island house rental

soooo DH wants to rent a house on FI for his 30th bday in july.... has anyone ever done this? we just want to rent one for the weekend, not the whole week... like maybe a thurs-sunday... is this possible? i know a lot of the rentals are week long, but cant we just do a long weekend?

also - where can i look on the internet to see rental listings?

yes craigslist is good for that...

also try fireislandsalesandrentals.com..it might be hard to get a house on a summer weekend as there are alot of shares....
we used to do weekends at the fire island hotel which is right in Ocean Bay Park..it is a little pricey and also not the most luxurious place but it has a pool..is steps from the beach and a short walk to the nightlife...we always had a really great time there...HTH and good luck..
