Quest Diagnostic Labs
Hi
DS is turning 1 and I have to go and get his blood work done. I am sooo scared to get it done b/c since he has a milk and egg allergy we have to get the full allergy blood work done. So I need your help and advice about which Quest lab is the most kid friendly and also advice on how to get through it.

Re: Quest Diagnostic Labs
We just went this last saturday. We had to do the full allergy workup also. We used the Quest in Bayshore. they were really good. But my suggestion is to make an appointment online and don't go on a Saturday or you will wait forever. Good luck.

Re: Quest Diagnostic Labs
One suggestion with Quest - keep track of every test they do. They are notorious for slamming people with absurdly large bills that the insurance won't cover. I have contested 600.00 bills that they magically took care of!!!
Good luck with everything!!!

We go to the one in Bethpage on Hempstead Tpke. They are great there, very good with taking my kids blood. They also don't make us wait long when they see I have my kids. I do try and go as early as possible.

Re: Quest Diagnostic Labs
We had the full work up at 1 year old also. I brought my mom so that she could hold her while they were drawing blood. I knew that I just couldn't do it! I stood next to her and tried to comfort her. Warning: She cried like a maniac but it was over in one minute.

Re: Quest Diagnostic Labs
we used the one in bethpage for jason when he was younger too. he was fine. didn't even cry at all, watched them do the needle stick too. they have lollipops there, its a good distractor for the kids. (or bring your own) look online, double check they have people who do pediatric at the lab you pick. its on their web site.

We used the one in Mineola on First Street. My son didn't even cry! I was so shocked!

Re: Quest Diagnostic Labs
Not sure about a good one but I can tell you the one in Huntington Station on Pulaski Road was terrible for me. On average it would take them 2-3 times before they found a vein. I wont be bringing my DC to that location!

Re: Quest Diagnostic Labs
I have gone to both patchogue and Bayshore. Both were good but I think I am going to go back to patchogue for DD's 2 year bloodwork that I was supposed to do in June/July!
