Sick Bank
I was just curious if anyone ever applied to be placed on their districts sick bank. I have to draft a letter and Im not sure what exactly to write. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

not sure what you mean by this? a sick bank is for teachers who are full-time employees. most districts give their staff 8-10 sick days per year and whatever is not used is rolled over creating a "bank" from which to pull from for a long illness, paid maternity leave, etc. i am not sure you can ask to be placed on this. if you're a sub, sick days are not a benefit given to subs.

I am a full time, tenured teacher and was advised to draft a letter by my district office to be placed on sick bank since I will not be able to cover my 6/8 weeks of maternity leave.
