I work in Lynbrook and have seen signs in diners and such in that area that are hiring for waitresses.

Try BK Sweeney's, Waterzooi, and Seventh Street Cafe. I am not sure if they are hiring, but if you go in person you have a better chance of talking with someone than if you call or send a resume blindly.

Most restaurant jobs are walk-in jobs. No one ever sends a resume (unless you're working in a very high end place like in the city). I've been a waitress all through college and I CANNOT WAIT to start my new "career" job on Monday. Right now, the restaurant biz is in a big downturn. If you need it for a couple extra $$$ it's OK.
