Officially unemployed thread
I had an idea that perhaps anyone who is unemployed can list themselves here w/ their profession, and who knows maybe this can sort of be a network for anyone looking for work. If you find a job reply here so we can update and also give others an idea of how long it took to find work. perhaps this can offer some comfort and encouragement to those that are feeling down right now. hugs to all my fellow unemployed!!
I'll start:
Laid off 12/03/08
Background: Accounting (Payables, Receivables and most recently for a Project Mgmt. team)- 10 yrs experience
Actively searching for work, but I've only had 2 interviews so far.

Re: Officially unemployed thread
I was laid off 12/10. My last job was for an Internet company, basically doing Web searching and Internet advertising editorial stuff.
I am not sure what to look at - possibly working in a library or in child care (which was going to be my career until I got sidetracked in college). There re very few web search companies out there, you know! I would really love to do a job that helps people and makes a difference!!

Fun!
I got laid off 8/1. (three weeks before my wedding!)
I was a paralegal in the real estate law field..mostly working with mortgage lenders & closings..my whole department was let go.
I've been looking since I got back from my HM September 3rd. Definitely not going to find anything in my field right now..so looking for an admin assistant/secretarial position.

Re: Officially unemployed thread
Hi ladies. I have seen my agency is advertising for a few positions on Careerbuilder. One is an accounting position in our Lynbrook office, the other is for Branch Manager in our Babylon office. I work for a large home health care agency. FM if interested and I will give you the name of the agency to search for.
