Ch = chain

Sl = slip stitch

Sc = single crochet

Hope that helps!

Re: Beginner crocheter needs help with pattern "reading"

With A Chain 4. Join with a slip stitch to the first chain stitch to form a ring.

1st round: Chain 1. Make 6 single crochets in the ring (meaning, don't make your single crochet stitches into the chain part, but into the center of the ring itself. After you make 6 single crochets in the ring you should be back around where you started the single crochets so use a slip stitch to join your last stitch with your first.

2nd Round: With B, chain 1. do 2 single crochets into each single crochet around. Join C with a slip stitch into the first single crochet. (you should have 12 single crochets on this round)

3rd Round: With C, chain 1. 2 single crochets into the first single crochet stitch from the previous round. Then in the next stitch only single crochet 1. The rest of this round, you will alternate 2 single crochets and then one single crochet. until you have worked back where you started then use a slip stitch to join your first and last stitches. (This round you should have 18 single crochets.)

HTH!!!

This might help a little... it seems close to what your pattern is saying.

Re: Beginner crocheter needs help with pattern "reading"

Just go step by step and you'll be fine! You can't really read the pattern all at once. I have to just do it as I'm reading it.

Good luck!
