I Have Joined the Ranks...
Yup, on Wed. I got laid off  It's good in that I didn't like my job, boss, commute, etc... but esp. having just bought a house money is def. needed!!!
So I'm at a crossroads, with a very limited skill set. I'm starting to lean toward child care (AGAIN i know!) because that is where my heart is, even though it pays a lot less. There are also a couple of libraries hiring (part time though) but I'm not sure I have the right experience/degree for that.
Anyway any kind wishes and prayers would be helpful! I'm starting the search on Monday!

for libraries (FT or PT) you need a MLIS to be librarian BUT you can look at the county civil service exams for clerical, admin assistant library work. That goes for schools too.

For a clerk I heard you don't have to have a MLIS? And part time you don't need the civil service test? (which I do want to take)
doesn't matter, both jobs were filled by the time that I found out about them.

Hi ladies. I have seen my agency is advertising for a few positions on Careerbuilder. One is an accounting position in our Lynbrook office, the other is for Branch Manager in our Babylon office. I work for a large home health care agency. FM if interested and I will give you the name of the agency to search for.

Good luck, I am sure you will have no problem finding something in a daycare or preschool, especially if that is what you are passionate about!
