Hugs to everyone missing a loved one this holiday season.

This is my second holiday season w/o my mom. It just does not get easier. I woke this morning and the first thing I thought of was, "Oh I cant wait to call my mom and just talk to her about our Christmas." And then I remembered that I cant call her. I miss you mom. Chat Icon

This is my first holiday season without my Dad. Since November I have found myself to be very emotional and irritable. Mot of the time I would get emotional while driving in my car by myself.

I totally agree. I do the majority of my crying while I am commuting to and from work, and especially when the right song comes on the radio. Chat Icon

OMG - I couldn't agree more. I don't know why, but I always ending up doing the worst crying while driving to and from work.

Chat Icon Mine too--my 1st without my father. My mom and I cried on Christmas Eve on the Grand Central Parkway it was awful. Then when a song actually came on it just made it worse. Something about the car you just start bawling! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Hugs to everyone missing a loved one this holiday season.

I think when I am alone in the car with out the chaos of the day, I begin to unwind. Sometimes the stupidest thing can set me off. Christmas Eve we were telling jokes my Dad like to tell and remembering silly stories.

My Dad lived for his grandchildren and LOVED to hand out the gifts on Christmas Day. Even though I don't have children yet, when the kids started opening their gifts, it got to me.

I lost my FIL on Dec. 8th. Only a few weeks ago and I can't stop crying. It didn't feel like christmas this year and it isn't getting any better. I feel so bad for DH. I only do my crying alone because I want to be there for him especially with the holidays. Hugs to all of you and I hope it gets easier.
