Re: TTC Decision

Yes, I've gone through this, and many of my friends and family members have too. My biggest suggestion to you is to just start TTC now if you feel everything else is right, except for the career aspect of it. Because once you finish grad school, the timing won't be right bc you'll want to jump into the new career, once you start the new career, you won't want to get pregnant while you're a newbie, once you get settled in, it'll be time for a promotion ...

and you know what? you NEVER know how long it will take you to conceive. Bottom line is you CAN"T determine when you WILL get pg, you cna only prevent it from happening. If you're ready now, do it and best of luck to you! Chat Icon

Re: TTC Decision

YES! I was VERY VERY nervous about making this decision. I would really like to wait and be with my DH for a few years but this isn't really in my cards...I am going to be 32. So this was ultimately our deciding factor.
I think if you are starting grad school you should wait a little. 28 isn't old by any means...

Re: TTC Decision

I totally agree with Susan... if you think about it, it's NEVER a good time. I just graduated from law school last summer, and thinking back, it would have been easier to have been pregnant DURING school (although DH would have liked it, I was a little hesitant to get pregnant before the actual wedding Chat Icon ). I have a LOT of friends who were pregnant during school, and they all agree - it's the best timing because your schedule is SO much more flexible. I got pregnant my first year out of school, and let me tell you, I'm STRESSED about what this will do to my career considering I've only been working here 1 year. But, if you wait a few years, then you'll be thinking promotion, or a career change. Really, truly, there is never an ideal time. You just have to go with what you feel in your heart and whether or not emotionally you're ready for a child...

Re: TTC Decision

On the flip side, you are still VERY young.....doesn't even become any kind of an issue until you are over 35.

Re: TTC Decision

anxiety and stress are very bad for a baby....the more stress it feels, the more stressed it could be as a child and it may cause more issues than that.

28 is not getting too late to TTC and you'll be done with Grad School in no time. You could always try near the end and be PG for graduation when all the hard work is out of the way!

Good Luck

Re: TTC Decision

I know exactly what you are saying...I am applying to grad school for Education and I am also 28....plus my DH and I want to TTC. I am a firm believer in God's plan so therefore we are TTC and kind of letting whatever happens, happen. We have been TTC for almost 10 months so I am not taking any chances and waiting any longer.
