Anyone see the identical twin documentary?
on national geo channel 162 last nite??? Not sure if there are any other identical mommies to be but this was an AMAZING show! DH and I hate medical documentaries usually.....we aren't into just sitting and listening to facts blurted out....this show had amazing graphiccs and reallly made us understand how rare identical twins are..and what a special bond our boys will have.....i recommend you all try and see if its replayed.....it made me so excited to actually SEE whats going on in that tummy of mine when its jumping all around

I saw one of these in the womb shows last january - it was about twins but not only identicals. I agree, it was really amazing!

OMG yes it was so awesome! We are having identical twins too! We recorded it because I haven't been able to stay awake much past 8, but I was so excited for the show, I stayed up for the whole thing. We both loved it.

Finally got to watch it last night and WOW! I could not believe how vivid those images were. AND i was so excited to hear that they are getting closer to understanding why identicals occur. That was really cool to see the sac fall in on itself and then reappear as two sacs when in most pregnancies it reappears as only one. NOw if they can only figure out why in some it comes back as two. My DH went so it's your crazy body that created them. LOL.
Also, to see the thin sac that is so important to have and how much they kick at it and it never breaks was pretty amazing too!
Such an amazing journey to see how a life is created and maintained. And to see those older identical twins was really cool. It must be amazing to have someone who looks just like you in life.

Not sure its channel 162 on optimum and I know they also sell documentaries on dvd for not that much $$...It was relaly worth watching..and like i said we arent "medical" nerds LOL....was on a very easy to understand level and the images made DH REALLY get whats going on inside of me......he keeps saying "nicholas stop kicking lucas's head LOL' when they kick inside now...

My girls are almost 10 now...but it brought back a lot of memories for me. I had so many ultrasounds with them and remember when they used to beat each other up...
Ive actually had 2 sets of identical twins so it would be nice to know what causes identicals.

wow! 2 sets! Closest we have to that is SIL on DH's sde has fraternal twin girls.....we thought that was some odds....but 2 identical sets....you should sell your eggs LOL JK!

I wish I watched that. My girls had separate sacs and separate placentas, but look a lot alike. I still have not done the DNA test, but would love to know more about Identical Twins and whether is it genetic or not.
DH & I have twins on both sides, but they say Identical twins are not genetic.
