Anyone's child have trouble sleeping through the night?
DS is 4 on the spectrum and although he goes to bed fine he wakes up every night. He doesn't cry or make a fuss- actually he stays in his room and plays but it's loud enough for me to hear. He doesn't nap and goes to school all day so I can't understand why he doesn't need a full night sleep. I was hoping he would be able to share a room with his younger brother when the new baby comes but not if he keeps doing this... Suggestions?

You could try melatonin supplements. They are suppose to help with sleeping.

Re: Anyone's child have trouble sleeping through the night?
We have the exact same problem.
Ava is 4 also and has sensory issues. She goes to bed just fine, buy can wake up several times a night. She doesn't stay in her room. She comes to get us and one of us has to lay on her floor till she falls asleep.
This has been going on for 2 1/2 years and is killing us. I find myself falling asleep at stop lights.
We have been to a sleep specialist 2x and even a Psychiatrist. The Psych suggested the Melatonin. It worked for 2 weeks, and then stopped. She told me to double the dose, and that didn't work either.
We are open to any and all suggestions.

I don't have any other suggestions....just wanted to offer My ds used to be a fantastic sleeper and about 3 weeks ago started the waking up in the middle of the night and coming in with us. Initially I didn't mind, but now it's starting to take a toll. He is now on the couch sleeping b/c my dh and I had to get up to get ready and he freaked out when we tried to go downstairs without him. I never heard of using melatonin, I think I might try.
