Recommend a nice yarn?

I am looking for a nice yarn with a "cashmere" feel to it, without the cashmere price tag. Does anyone have any experience with one they can recommend? tia

Re: Recommend a nice yarn?

Red Lion has a really nice soft yarn that I used to make a scarf for DH. I think that the name was super soft, but I am not 100 % sure.

Good question, not entirely sure. My sister has asked me to make something to be auctioned off for her kids school. I was thinking maybe a shawl or a wrap.

Re: Recommend a nice yarn?

last weekend i bought 3 skeins of
Bristol Yarn Gallery's Buckingham
it's 80% baby alpaca and 20% silk.

each skein is approximately 218 yards

each skein was $7.99

it's got the VERY YUMMY softness of cashmere.

not sure if that's within your price range, but i hope it helps

This looks perfect, thanks. I found a few places online that carry it; are there any local stores where I can pick it up?
