How to become an umpire-??

I saw an ad on craigslist and thought it would be good for my dh but not sure what the qualifications were.
Wondered if anyone else knew. Thanks :)

If you mean like a major league umpire, I believe there is a school in Florida.But it takes a LONG time to actually make it to the big leagues, and its very competitive. There is also a lot of travelling involved. I think I have some information about the school in my office at work. If you FM me on Monday, I'll try to get it for you.

my husband became an umpire last summer thru East Coast Umpiring. The deal with all of nassau and suffolk. Dh works full time and does this on his spare time. The association guarantees u x number of games and he made pretty decent money. Enough to pay for our vacay to antigua last year!
