Internals..
Today is going to be my first internal..are they painful at this point? I'm 36 weeks.
I've heard different stories.
what's the real deal?

I think it depends on the person and the dr.
Mine havent hurt. They are just a little uncomfy.

Definitely different for everyone. Mine hurt, but the pain was over as soon as they were done - no lingering pain. And at 38 weeks, they stripped my membranes which was really bad.

I won't lie, it was a bit painful- BUT, it was over fairly quickly and then the pain was instantly gone...nothing lingers :0)

Mine started at 37 weeks. The first was fine. Each week after IMO got worse.

No. The doctor sticks his or her fingers inside of you to check your cervix. I found the internals at the doctor's office much less painful than the ones at the hospital.

I just came home from my first one...at 35w 5d....
It was fine...doctor also did a strep test which was just sticking a q-tip in. It was over in a few seconds and didn't hurt at all.

Thanks girls. Went last night. Wasn't bad at all.
I was anxious all day. I'm such a baby though.
