What would you think?

Ok...a few days ago one of my neighbors told FH and me that he saw a an in a black 4 door BMW taking pictures of our house. He said the man was white...mid 30's...brown hair.
My neighbor approached the man and asked him what he was doing? The man said "nothinng" and drove away.
This has been upsetting me for a few days now...especially since many nights its just me and the baby while FH is at work.
This morning as I was leaving my house I saw a black 4 door beemer with its hazards on passing my house.
so I hopped in my can and caught up to the guy at a light...he fit the description of the man my neighnor described...and what I thought was strange was that the man was sipping 7"11 coffee...there is no 7"11 in the development....so at 6:30 in the morning it seemed obvious that he didnt come from the development.
I wrote down his plate # and then called FH...when he got to work today he ran the plate...turns out its the previous owner of the house...(we never met them because they gave their lawyer POA at closing)...and the neighbor wouldn't have known him either because he never lived in the house...(another long story)
Im not sure what they are doing there...my guess is that he was taking pictures of the landscapning...we have alot of those fancy trees and shrubs...Im trying not to over react.
What do you think?

Wow... I would have been alarmed, but you handled it pretty well. I'm not sure what to think as to why he was taking pics. I could understand that maybe he wanted to take pics for 'memories'... or maybe to show his wife of any changes that you made to the house... but that should have been done on one, not two trips.

I'm stumped... sorry. Chat Icon
One thing is for sure, I don't think that he'd mean you, or your family, any harm... I would say his visits are strictly about the house. Do you think that maybe he left something behind that he might want back?

Re: What would you think?

no matter what the reason I would still be concerned that this man is taking pictures of my house, not once but twice...

Since you have the license plate number I would call the proper authorities if he continues to come around....

I'm sorry but that would make me too uncomfortable having this man come around and taking pics of my house..

Maybe you should call the police and just alert them of this. Let them be the ones to question him and see what he's doing.

Maybe there's tons of $$$ buried under your floor or something...

Wouldnt your neighbor KNOW the person who lived there right before you?

Re: What would you think?

If it makes you feel any better... I know we've had people actually come to the door to the house because of a unique item that is on the porch. My grandpa made this rooster and people will ask where we got it or could they trace it to copy.

And for sentimental things, my dad does this. He takes a picture of this tree every year by the lake that is near someone's house to see the progression of the tree. I know... weird but he does it.

My mom also got pictures of her old home in Queens. Maybe that house just is filled with such great memories, he likes to pass by it.
