AF question

I have been laying low since the m/c, and I know this has been asked before but I have a question. What is the average time it takes to get AF after a m/c? Maybe tmi, but do you count from the first day of it or after you finish bleeding? I started to m/c Jan 1 (happy freaking new year) Chat Icon , or do I count in weeks after I finished which was over a week later? Thanks for your help... unfortunately so many of us have gone through this lately that all I can do is hope to learn from others' experiences.

Re: AF question

I'm so sorry!! I'm right there with you! I started mc on the 2nd had a d&c on the 5th, so obviously im still waiting too! Thing is it's different for everyone! Could take anywhere from I'd say 6 to sometimes 8-10 weeks! The first time it took me closer to 9! This time who knows I'm only 3 weeks in!! I'm not going to stress about it though, just going to do what we do and hope for the best! Less stress! Good luck with everything! I know all will work out for the best! Hang in there! I know I'm trying to also!! Chat Icon

Re: AF question

First off i want to say im sorry for both your losses. I hope this year gets better for you Chat Icon
The first time i mc (had a d&C) i got af 5 1/2 weeks from the day i had the d&c done.
The second time i mc (natural) i got af 6 weeks from the day i took the cytotec to mc.

I know it varies with everyone and it can take 8 weeks to get af - (thats what my dr said) it also depends on how far along you are. Your beta needs to go back down to zero.

Hang in there ! hope TBAF shows up asap for you!

Re: AF question

So sorry for your loss, hearing other people's experiences helped to get me through my first m/c too. I started counted from the day of my d/c and I was 11w 4d along and i got my AF back 5 1/2 weeks later. I recently had a second m/c that I passed naturally Jan 5th but noticed that I ovulated 14 days after I started to m/c so I thinking I should probably get AF in another 2 weeks or so. But this time around I was only 5 weeks along. So I guess it depends on how far along you were in addition to varying from one person to another. HTH
