Any remedies for the flu

I have been so sick with a bladder infection, and then on top of that I got the flu. I haven't been to work yet this week. =( Any at home remedies to get better faster? It is not going away. I am anxious to get back to work since I am a teacher, and I feel bad with how behind I am getting with my kids. Thanks!

Did your dr. prescribe tamiflu? When my son had it I swear it reduced his recovery time.

Tamiflu is effective if you take it within the first two days of feeling symptoms. After that... you just have to ride it out. Rest as much as you can - the flu really knocks you out and you need tons of sleep to recover. I just had the flu 2 weeks ago (it's really going around!) and was sick with cough/fever for 6 or 7 days, and then fatigued (got winded walking up a flight of stairs) for about 4 days after that.
