Recommendations needed: painter, plumber, electrician, roofer, etc.

We close on our house this week, (it's a handyman special). I've gotten some recommendations so far, but wanted some more, since we are hoping to spend next Saturday getting estimates for everything we need to get done.

House is in E. Northport...... we are looking for referrals for a painter, plumber, electrician, roofer, contractor (we want some walls knocked down).

The name of the company is Atlantic Painting. They are a father and son company that has been in business for years. Although they are located in Nassau, I'm sure they will come to you.

I think I recommended my contractor to you, right?
If you have work done that involves plumbing he can do it as his first career was as a licensed plumber. It's great because we didn't have to sub out plumbing which a lot of homeowners have to do in massive renovation projects.

As for electricians PJ Laura and Sons.

He is mine and works with the contractor I recommended all of the time. They are long time friends and will coordinate with one another... which is a big help because coordinating the subs in such a project can be a pain.

A few people from this board have used him and wrote back to me to say they were very pleased.
He is licensed and has been in the business for over 25 years.

As for painters... that would be me but after painting over 40 rooms in my lifetime, I'm temporarily retired

We used this plumbing service for some bathroom work - and if we ever have a septic issue, they will be called as well. Greenfreak has also used them and has been happy with their service.

We used this electrician who advertised in our Church bulletin. A neighbor used them as well and we were very happy with his work - he also is very clean - places sheets down everywhere as he works, so he doesn't make a mess of your house.

I can recommend a painter. They painted two rooms for me for $300 including molding and the ceiling. It came out really nice!
