Alexa Brooke 1-6-09
We were all set to go for my scheduled c-section which had been planned since my very first OB appointment for January 6, 2009....At my 38 week visit we had a time scheduled for 8am at St.Charles, w/ instructions to arrive at 6:30am ...
On January 5th at around 7pm, I really started having contractions- nothing that followed a pattern, but definately stronger than the BH that I'd been having in the previous weeks..I tried to blow it off, went to sleep at 10pm thinking I was going to be at the hospital in a few hours anyway...Needless to say- the contractions were getting stronger and more frequent...I never went into labor w/ DS and didnt know if this was the real thing or not- I also was a previa case and had bled throughout pg, so the fact that I was bleeding didnt even throw out a red flag...Finally at 2am I decided to call the OB ( who consequently got back from vacation that day !)...He decided to send me to the ER...We scrambled like crazy to find someone to watch my 3yo DS...Finally we were on our way at 3am...My water broke as soon as we pulled into the parking lot  of St.Charles....
Now this part is funny...As we pulled in the song by "Pink" - ...."I'm coming out so we better get this party started , everybodies waiting for me to arrive..." LOL ...I tried not to laugh during the contractions but couldnt help it ( little did we know, we were having a  and ironically that song is by "Pink")
I was hooked up to the monitors etc... and sure enough, they had my OB come in at 5am ...This little one just couldnt wait, apparently 8am just wasn't soon enough for her !!!....Had a couple of issues getting the spinal in, and the IV gave them some trouble other than that, all went really well....My OB had my DH call out the sex and my DH was in total shock and said " ITS A GIRL !!!"....The only one who guessed girl is my DS and my brother- everyone else SWORE it was a boy !....I kinda guessed girl because my pg. was like a roller coater ride and I always joked that, it must be a girl because she is already giving me problems- LOL !!!! Even up until the last minute !!!
She is absolutely precious, looks exactly like my DS when he was born and we are all so in love with her already  .....I could not ask for more
