DS did the oddest thing tonight...
I changed him, put him in his PJs and gave him to DH to hold while I made his last bottle for the night. He started crying a bit when DH was holding him, but I figured he was just hungry. I went to give him his bottle and he stopped crying. He ate @ 1/2 an oz and started screaming. I tested the formula, it was fine, not too hot, flowing fine, etc. After 5 minutes of wailing and refusing the bottle, I offered him water from his sippy cup. He took some happily. Ok, tried the bottle again - screams bloody murder. Somehow I got the bright idea to put his formula in a sippy cup. DH called me nuts, but sure as anything he took the whole cup without making another peep.
Soooo.. What gives?

i'm not a mom but the same thing happened with my nephew...he was teething and somehow chomping on the hard plastic of the sippy cup gave his gums relief.

Re: DS did the oddest thing tonight...
is it possible that the nipple on the bottle was bad... my ds was like that last week and it turns out the nipple was litterally pouring the milk into his mouth... so i went out and replaced them all since they were a few months old and now the screaming is gone

How weird. It was the usual nipple? Maybe he just wants to be a big boy

My ds did this at 9 months old I gave him the sippy cup from that moment forward.... If he didn't want the bottle why force him... He had to get rid of the bottle sooner or later... I am not sure how old your ds is, but maybe you should just get rid of it.
