WHAT is wrong with BM??
Does my SD have even a CHANCE at growing up to be a woman with decent values and standards??
Tonight, SD (11) was over our house waiting to be picked up by her mother. Her mother calls to tell her she's almost at our house, and oh, by the way, Chris Brown is in jail for punching Rhianna in the face during an arguement, and he hurt her so badly that she had to go to the hospital.
***?!?! What kind of a mother calls her 11 year old daughter up to give her that tidbit of information?

I'm guessing that isn't the worst thing she has done, othewise, I would say it's not such a terrible thing since maybe it could open up a conversation about abuse between men & women to teach her about that. Like I said, I'm guessing this is just another of a list of inappropriate behavior on her behalf.

You're guessing right....This is a woman (I use the term loosely) who lived with and subjected her daughter to living with a drug addict, has brought her daughter to tattoo parlors when she was 5, moved her from school district to school district.....the list goes on and on.
Just venting.

That's exactly right! I was so uncertain about the future of my SD's since they only came to live with us full time when they were 12 & 17, but today, at 17 & 22, they are doing great, despite their BM & her various problems & negative influence.

Sounds like mt SS's mom, drugs and all.
I'm hoping that you have a close relationship with your SD. I hoping that you can be the role model she chooses to look up to. I think I'm a bit late. My SS will be 18 in Aug. and he's already just like his mom.

 don't worry about it because eventually she'll know the difference between mother and friend when she finds a mother in you
