Peeing through diapers...

The kid is a month old... how much could she possibly pee?!!?!

She started peeing through the huggies newborn diapers so I went up to size one pampers last week (I got a TON of these at my shower and have at least 4 packs from the hospital too). She is still peeing through them!!!

I have some size one luvs from a diaper cake I was given, and those seem to work a tad better, but I literally have a months worth of the pampers size 1's.....

BTW.. I change at least every 3 hrs...

Are you using the Pampers Swaddlers? I know the size 1's have been working like a charm for Liam.

OMg ok this is why I don't buy huggies. I hate how they bash pampers on their ads on tv. Their stretch isn't that good pampers has really good stretch and can hold 9 hours worth says the ad in the store which is true I have been using pampers for 2 years for both of my kids and it works very well. Like when we go out out shopping and there's no where to change. some times its a really long time and they never ever leak through. they have the smell of baby powder and flexible seat so they can move around.I was just talking to my friend that complained about huggies and I told her to switch and she did and has no problems. I recommend any pampers brand.

Do you change her before every feeding? How often does she eat?

I never had thisproblem with Pampers Swaddlers. I change before every feeding and after if they poop, and sometimes in between if it's longer than 3 hrs.

I never had a leak with them. That's odd. Huggies I have had leaks with though, so I don't use them.

Yep.. every 3 to 4 hours she eats, but I change her more than that because she will poop/wake up from a nap whatever.

When Reilly was Sadie's age, she was eating every 2-3 hours so I was changing her diaper a bit more frequently than you are... How many ounces is she eating? I have been using Swaddlers since day one and have not had a leak yet. Reilly is 4 months, 3 weeks old now and eating about 33 oz. per day. Is Sadie eating near this amt?

Maybe its not tight enough? DD was pooping through hers and someone on here suggested that maybe the diaper wasnt tight enough. That was def the problem bc now that I make them tighter, she hasnt pooped up her back since

The only suggestion I have is that it's not on tight enough.

I would try a different brand. My DD would pee through anything with Huggies written on it. Pampers seemed to work for the most part. I didn't like luvs, but i believe they've changed. And I think it was the sams club or price club brand also worked pretty well.
It's hit or miss each child is a little different.

Jen, I think like the others said, the diaper may be too loose. The only other thing I can think of is could she possibly be cold? I know there were a few nights we didn't put her long sleeved onesie on below her PJ's & she must have been cold & wet through her diapers.

We loved the Swaddlers too.
