Nosey co-workers
I came in an hour early today because I had to leave early. Why do people have to ask why I came in early or where I'm going when I leave. I email my supervisor and she knows. I can just imagine how nosey people will be if I take time off to do IVF. How do you deal w/nosey people without being rude? I really feel like I don't owe everyone an explanation.

Re: Nosey co-workers
Just say I have an appointment..if they ask what kind? Just say it's personal. They should get the hint!

Re: Nosey co-workers
I always say "Why do you want to know?" That throws people off.
If they say they're just curious or whatever, then just say it's personal. Period.
If they push after THAT, they are just being rude. At that point, I tell people it's none of their business, and I would appreciate them not being so nosey.

I would simply just say I had some things to take care of. If they persist, let them know you appreciate their concern but there really is nothing else to say. Hopefully they get the hint.

Re: Nosey co-workers
my old job was like that From the receptionists to the assistants to the dentist himself would ask what i was doing.. what was going on etc When the receptionist couldnt squeeze any info out of me to pass along to the dentist (they had something going on) the dr called me in his office to "make sure everything was ok and if i needed to talk about what was going on" YEA ok like i was gonna tell him my IF issues. So i told him i dont think this is anyones business especially after i said it was something personal. I told him i felt uncomfortable everyone asking me my personal issues including him.
Nothing else was questioned... granted i dont work there anymore LOL

Re: Nosey co-workers
I work with a lot of nosy women who think they are entitled to know everything about you. Another coworker of mine ignores people when they come up to her to ask her questions like that. I usually just give simple yes/no type answers and they seem to back off but Im sure they are dying inside to know whats going on. I would just tell them its person or I like what a pp stated just ask them why they want to know. Good luck, I know these situations and tough and annoying.
