How Freakin Selfish Is This Mayor...come on already, it's past 9:00

I live out east in Medford and travel to Queens each day. Obviously when there is snow I don't go.

But..come on already, what about parents who need to go to work and plan a sitter for their child. How late is this psycho mayor going to wait to make an announcement?

PS. My husband who works for Estee Lauder in Melville just called and the buisness just declared a state of emergency day so that's go to tell you something!

My prediction is we will know by 11. But I agree, this is ridiculous. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many LI schools are closed already. Leave it to the DOE to remain open!

I will probably stay home anyway- I have to travel a good 40 mins (without the snow) and it's just not worth the risk! I will be sure to post on here as soon as I hear something!! (if anything!)

I am right there with you.... I really dislike him.

My DH is asking me why I would risk driving tomorrow to the train station when my students won't even bother to show up....

I wont know until i call my school in the morning. Its a very small private school...and im pretty sure I wont get any kind of phone call tonite.

Information about school delays and early dismissals:

New York City public schools are open on a regular schedule, regardless of the weather, unless there is a specific announcement that they are not. If there are to be morning closings or delays, they will be announced between 4 and 6 AM on the morning of the day of the closure.

So, we all get to get up early to find out.

I don't work for DOE, but I work for a special ed preschool that provides CPSE services to NYC students, so we follow the NYC closing schedule. Basically, if the buses are running to pick up our kids, we're open.
