Spinoff to the jeans post...

I just got a pair of Hudson jeans and knew they were long when I put them on and I couldn't see my feet. I am 5'4 and the tailor had to take off a foot, no joke...and I had them hemmed with heels!

I don't get it, who are these jeans made for??? Chat Icon Chat Icon

The same thing happend to me with my new jeans. It's really frustrating that every time I go to the tailor with some pants/dresses it's like 100 bucksChat Icon Chat Icon

I wish that women's pants and jeans were sold the way men's pants are!

This would be a perfect solution...I don't understand why they don't just do this!!

On the Hudson jeans I also had to have the waist taken in!

I don't know if this helps, but if you buy them at Nordstroms it is free for a regular hem and $20 to put the denim hem back on.

I agree that the length is annoying.

DH doesn't even have to try pants or jeans on, and they always fit no matter what. It's so unfair. why can't mfg's just sell them all the same way Chat Icon

It's very, very annoying. They are starting to sell "flip-flop length" jeans. I bought a pair of Citizens of Humanity 31" inseam jeans on Friday at Bloomies. But those that are 32"-34" inseams are out of luck, I swear.

Hudson denim is known for being longer in length. I know a lot of women/girls in the "tall community" wear them for that reason.

"flip flop" length? Chat Icon how about "normal - same as 5 yrs ago and decades before that" length?

Re: Spinoff to the jeans post...

Think of it this way- you can always get them hemmed.
But us tall chicks can't get length added on!
It's so nice to be able to find jeans that I can actually wear with a heel and not feel like I'm waiting for the flood! Chat Icon

You are so right, however when the jeans have a flare or boot cut the whole flair/boot cut bottom is cut off when a foot of the jeans are taken off. So they end up being straight leg jeans Chat Icon

I really dont understand why woman's pants/jeans designers make jeans in waist size and inseam length like mens jeans.

I guess they think that all sized 12 woman are the same height!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don't think men's premium denim comes with various inseam lengths either. I think the men are stuck with just waist sizes too...or am I wrong? (I've never bought or browsed men's premium denim. Chat Icon )

It seems to be the mid-level denim, like the Gap, that offers varying inseam lengths.

What premium denim designer/company offers different inseams for men? Whenever I search on sites like NM, Saks or Eluxury, they don't offer a choice on inseam, just waist sizes.
