Would you
go to an RE other than the one your OB suggested? I have so many wonderful recommendations and i'd love to see if I can get in sooner with one of these other doctors, but for some reason i'm not sure if thats right or not.

Re: Would you
Go where you get the best recommendation. Waiting a few weeks doesn't make much of a difference in the grand scheme of thihgs.
Just make sure the RE is on your insurance plan (if you have coverage).

Re: Would you
The first RE I went to was one that my GYN recommended and I didn't think to highly of them. Made me kind of wonder about my GYN's office.
I used recommendations from here and found one that I really liked. Definetely make sure you find one who takes your insurance!

Re: Would you
To answer your question, yes. I would keep the appointment you have with the one recommended by your OB, but there is no harm in getting a consultation elsewhere. Ultimately, your RE is going to see you "up close and personal A LOT" and you need to feel comfortable with who you wind up going with. I believe it helps to "shop around."

Re: Would you
I went to another Dr than the one recommended, but because of logistics. I also beleive in fate. If you feel you need anearlier appt and can get one, then go for it!!

Re: Would you
I would suggest doing your own research when choosing a RE. I went with LI IVF because of recommendations from this board and finding out they are top doctors on Long Island. Best of luck!

Re: Would you
Without a doubt, I would.
You have to be your own health advocate and do what's best for you.

ITA! I picked my dr for all of the same reasons.
Their hours are really important. If u wind up having to go there for monitoring, you'll have to go there each morning during certain days on your cycle. My dr opens at 6:30am during the week. That made all the difference to me bc I can go B4 work.
I guess it can't hurt to make more than 1 appt----if u don't feel comfortable w/ the 1st dr, at least u have a back-up appt. I actually did that, but luved the 1st dr so I cancelled the appt with the 2nd dr.
Whether u go with the RE that your dr recommended or one u find on your own, as long as u find a dr that u feel comfortable---that's the most important thing!
Good luck!

Re: Would you
I can't thank all of you enough for the wonderful information, suggestions and recommendations. This is not the best situation to be in but having people to turn to who are so caring and willing to help a perfect stranger makes it easier to deal with.
I made an appt with dr. Braverman for the 16th and I will keep my appt with Rosenfeld on the 23rd also unless everything goes good with Braverman.

Re: Would you
I did. My gyn is in the city and recommended one there. I really wanted one on LI though, so I went to the same one my friend went to (she just gave birth, so figured that was as good a recommendation as any)

Re: Would you
Yup. I went with an RE that two close friends recommended, not the first one that my ob/gyn recommended. And I LOVED her. I wish I could adopt her as my bubby
