Lets talk about something fishy
..... Sorry for crashing the board ladies (from TTC) .... But, I am wondering which types of fish is low in mercury and approved by your OB to eat while pg.
While I'm not pregnant yet, I'm still trying to avoid fish that is high in mercury. I have been eating a lot of tilapia until a friend mentioned this week that it's not healthy for reasons other than mercury- bad fatty acids, or something
So, which types of fish is baby friendly AND healthy for you?
Thanks!!

Re: Lets talk about something fishy
According to my dr's list: avoid shark, swordfish, tile fish, and mackerel. And limit seafood consumption to 12oz. per week.

I've been going by these guidelines. I find them helpful!

Re: Lets talk about something fishy
This always confused me So if i had a can of tuna this week, should I then avoid even the low mercury fish for the week or can I still have that?

I just try to limit fish to once a week. I usually don't even eat it that often anyway.
