Resume question
If you dont have a great relationship with your principal, do you still have to put them as a reference or will not doing so raise up some flags if they use the assistant principal or department chair instead?

Re: Resume question
Honestly, I wouldn't put anyone down as a reference unless I knew that they would be a good reference. I am not looking for people to butter me up or lie....just wouldn't put someone down I know I don't have a good relationship with.

Re: Resume question
I might put them down, but AFTER the others. If you are still working there I would put a note saying "please advise candidate before calling, current employer"
they can get into some trouble if they say something negative, so it's rare for that to happen. I'm sure there are cases that it does though.
but I don't think it's bad if you leave it off. FOr my first two schools, I left off principals, since one retired and the other died.
