On this day...
seven years ago, I lost my Mom, my best friend, to breast cancer. It was almost exactly six months to the day from when she was diagnosed for the final time (she had beat it 3 times before) until the time we said goodbye.
No matter how many years go by, I can remember exactly what I did that day, who was there, what I said to my Mom, what the weather was like, etc. Most of all, I remember exactly what it felt like to lose her yet to realize she was no longer in pain.
The last seven years have had their ups and downs but life has been extremely good to me. I have a wonderful husband who loves me more than anything. I'm convinced my Mom had something to do with us coming together as I first heard from him exactly one year to the date from my Mom's funeral. It was almost like she was saying "Your mourning period is over. Please be happy again.". He has definitely helped me to find that happiness. After six years together, we have an adorable 20 month old son and are expecting another one in late April. My only regret is that they will never know their Grandma because she would have loved to meet them.
They say time makes it easier. I, myself, have told other people the same thing. Despite knowing that, this day is never easy. I miss my Mom so much I can hardly breathe today. Luckily, I know from experience, tomorrow it will get easier again.
Thank you for letting me share.
Theresa

Re: On this day...
My Dad's one year anniversary (I dno't know why people say that) is coming up very soon. I know that day is going to be hard. It falls on a Friday, so part of the day I will be distracted at work, but at times, I relive the moments (it was very sudden). I too, remember what I was watching on tv when the phone rang, what I was wearing, the drive to the hospital and the moment the doctor told us my Dad had passed a way.
I believe your mom had brought you and your husband together and it sounds like the two of you have a wonderful life together. And congratulations on the twins, how exciting.

Re: On this day...
Theresa I am so sorry for your pain and your loss.
Something tells me that your mom will make her presence known to your boys (if she hasn't already with Ben)
I know it never gets easier

I'm so sorry, I hope you find some comfort today. March 30th will be 12 years since I lost my dad but it still feels like yesterday.
