Has anyone completely changed careers in life?

Just curious!! Lately I can't stop thinking how I'd love to do something in the medical field..I am so intrigued by ultrasound technology and thinking about pursuing that. I love medical shows, anything dealing with that field, and people are always telling me I should be a nurse (although I am a bit too squeamish when it comes to blood..hence thinking maybe ultrasound is a good choice..).

My degree is is mass. communications. I worked in PR/advertising agencies for years and don't have a desire to go back after I am done being a SAHM.

Any thoughts?

I didn't change careers, but I went to school for Psychology and was going to get my PhD, but then changed my mind and went into Marketing. What we want one day may not be what we want 5 years from now. If you're interested in ultrasounds, I say go for it. There's good money in that field.

The most important thing when it comes to work is for you to be happy. How will you know if you never give it a try? Take the classes and see where it takes you.

I was in HR at a major insurance company for 5 years when I decided enough was enough, and quite and went back to law school.

It was easier for me, though, because I wasn't married and didn't have any children at the time. Financially it was difficult, but I have absolutely no regrets. Admittedly, I was making less in my first year out of law school than I had been making in HR, but after a few years I more than made up the difference.

I am in the process of trying to do that now. I am hoping to get into Radiology. I am on a waiting list at the moment to get into the program. I have wanted to do it for years & I have the opportunity to do it at the moment. I am hoping that I NEVER have to go back to corp America.

DH did and he says it was the best decision he ever made! Go with your gut and does what makes you happy!
