After a colposcopy/cervical biopsy....TMI
I had to have a colposcopy/biopsy on wednesday. I've had no bleeding or anything since the first night but this morning there was some tissue that came out when I wiped.
I wanted to call the doctor but they are closed until Monday and I don't know if this constitutes a medical emergency (there is an emergency #).
Has anyone experienced this? I'm freaking out a bit. Would you call the emergency #?
TIA.

Years ago I had several colposcopies and had exactly what you described. I remember it happening in the shower and it looked like a wet autumn leaf. Anyway, I believe it was the residue of the solution they put up there after the procedure to heal the area.
I'd probably call anyway; it sounds like you are worried and hopefully your doctor can ease your mind.

Yup--I've had a colpo also and the same thing you are describing.
If you feel like its a lot, or it continues then feel free to call your doc. But don't get freaked about it right now.

Re: After a colposcopy/cervical biopsy....TMI
It wasn't alot at all. Maybe a few inches. It was just gross.
I'm already freaked out about the whole abnormal pap/colpo/biopsy thing so this is just adding to the anxiety.
I called the emergency # and they said they would have the dr. call me.
Thanks for reassuring me ladies. She mentioned bleeding and coffee grind looking stuff- but didn't say anything about tissue. I'm sure it's fine though.

I had one years ago and what looked like tissue came out of me too.. it's normal. I would call the dr if you are bleeding heavily though.

Yes! I bled for several days after mine. As long as you're not soaking full pads in 2 hours.......it is normal to have some bleeding....just as long as its not profusely bleeding

It can also be the iodine that the Dr used during the procedure.
