Intro letter for leave replacement!
Any suggestions on how to start one or what to put in it? I'm taking over a Kindergarten class for the rest of the year.
Thanks!

Re: Intro letter for leave replacement!
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. X and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher for the remainder of the year.
Ive been both the leave replacement and left my position to have a baby.

Re: Intro letter for leave replacement!
I did a leave in a kindergarten class last year! You're going to love it! That age group can be so much fun, especially by the end of the year when they are starting to become used to school and more independent.
I also felt it was important to send home a letter, especially since it can be hard for very young children to face major changes like losing the teacher they have had for most of the school year. I made sure to mention that I planned to continue to follow the regular teacher's daily routine that the kids were used so that I could make the transition go as smoothly as possible for them. I don't know if you had the opportunity to visit the class you will be taking over, but I had done that and I let the parents know this in my letter so that they would know that I was familiar with the children and the daily routines. I also let the parents know that they could feel free to contact me either by calling the school or emailing with any questions or concerns, since it would be a transition for their children. I started a separate email account just for that purpose, and even though no parent ever did email me, I felt better know that I had given them the option to. Best of luck to you!

Thanks! I actually have been in the class a lot since the beginning of the year (I'm a perm sub in the building so whenever coverage wasn't needed I was sent to her room). I start on Monday and what you wrote is almost exactly how my letter sounds, which makes me happy with the way I wrote it!
Thanks for the advice!
