I'm learning to knit

My neighbor is teaching me. I picked up a knitting book with a ton of designs with instructions and it scared me to death. I'm sweating. All I learned so far is the knit stitch and I feel like I am going to break out in hives if I ever open that book again. It's going on my bookshelf for about five years.

let me tell you a few little secrets about knitting:

* there are only TWO stitches in all the world of knitting... you're half-way there!
* 99% of knitting looks harder than it really is.... ssshhhh don't tell anyone... doen't mean there aren't challenges or that things don't take time, but they won't kill ya
* knitting can become a very expensive habit... some people call their yarn, their crack addiction

there are a few more secrets, but you have to have dropped a few stitches before we share them with a newbie

That's fine that you didn't get to respond right away!!!

I just learned the pearl stitch today. Totally easy!

I'm HORRIBLE at easing up on the yarn so everything is really tight. I took everything out and will start new tomorrow.
