I am such an angry Met's fan right now..((UPDATE))

so normally we are 7 pack ticket holders..

so this year with citifield we splurged and got the 15 game pack so we can go to the first opening day..

so then they of course announced the red sox exhibition games there.. so we realized we were not going to be the first to see a game at citifield.. THEN they announced the St. john's tickets which we luckily got ...

and NOW the mets just announced a small opening day package that includes the home opener plus 4 other games..


that really makes my blood boil , they just keep coming up with these suprises.. i am so angry


UPDATE.....
well we just got a letter from the mets to give us a chance to see them work out on the 4/5.. so i guess they are trying to accomodate us.. i am happy with that.. cant complain!

we have the mini plan as well. we got complimentry tickets yesterday to see their workout. i think they're trying to please everyone.

Honestly I think the "demand" excuse they gave us why they upped it to a 15 pack isnt true. I think they wanted to sucker in die-hard fans who dont want to purchase season tickets....I know so many people who split plans...

I think now they are getting a real sense of their numbers, and in the end they have seats to sell. They want to make money in the best possible way. Look at all the people that registered for the opening day lottery vs. how many actually got tickets. it was like what 800,000 for 45,000 seats (well less have the plans and such)

So now they see the "demand" for opening day and try to package it in a neat lil bow with 4 other april/may games to get that extra money. Granted I got a good deal but for $285 - 5 games on field level for games not including the summer is a bit steep even for my wallet. I sold all the other games to friends thankfully...cuz seriously field level at citifield is marketable and not easy to get even at Shea.

In the end its all money, I'm pretty sure around the time they are going to raffle off Subway Series tickets I will get a call from the Mets about purchasing another "mini-pack" But hey thats fine with me I'll go and sell my other tickets again...since they happen to be "in demand"

Funny thing is last year I bought 7 packs The one with the last game at shea and one with a subway series. This year I'm not going to that many games I didnt even make some of them.

We all know the media feeds the people and makes them believe what they want too.

ETA And im sorry you're angry let's hope our boys make up for it by going all the way this year!

ugh De, I'm sorry. I know what it's like to feel burned! I heard them talking about this on Mike Francesa today....didn't even think it might affect you. I'm sorry hon.

If it makes you feel any better, the 5-pack (home opener + 4 other games) requires that ALL of the games you choose be in April or May... I think that's a pain.

i just checked into this mini plan to try to get tickets to the opener - they only have tix in the expensive seats.

cheapest i saw for 2 tix in that package comes to $1,230

no thanks

yea Don, i just saw that the mini opener pack is SO expensive.. and now for some reason that makes me more angry that they can do this to people just to go to opening day! i priced it all out.. and like you said it equals to about 1,200 .. thats insane!!
i assumed that it was a cheaper package , but i was wrong! we got the 15 games but its even a little less than that!

now it just makes me mad what the yanks and mets are doing to the die hard fan.. it makes me ill..

and Epeebes.. like you said.. the "demand" got everyone all crazy thinking that we had to just suck it up and get the bigger package.. i just really think they should have KEPT the 7 pack to the everyday fan..

right.. that mini plan is really expensive.
