Any bowlers here?
Just wondering. I'm on a league on Sunday nights. My mechanics are all off since I fouled last week & almost slid down the lane head first Ever since that incident, It seems as if I forgot how to bowl. How the hell do I shake this this?
My approach is off completely. I'm releasing on the wrong foot. I cant friggen shake this! I know its all mental too! Any advice? I really feel like I forgot how to bowl!
Help. My teamates want to kill me since we are 3 points ahead in 1st place.

Re: Any bowlers here?
here!!
the SAME thing happened to me in one of my leagues..
i fouled for one of the first times in my life! then after that i was ALL off.. i kept thinking i would do it again and again.. my approach was WAY off, and i wasn't sliding thinking i would foul again.. so i was stopping short and throwing the ball all over the place.. it was terrible!!
the way i got over that was to go out on a weekend and bowl for fun with friends.. and i was cured! granted you dont get fouled.. but everything just fell into place, the next time i bowled for real, i was ok!
i hope this gets fixed soon.. i feel your pain.. and i hated that my average was getting low because of that!! its not like me too!!

Re: Any bowlers here?
Ahh.. Thanks for your reponse. My god.. Its terrible. I feel like I got amnesia or something & totally forgot how to bowl. Its a terrible feeling and no one could understand unless it happens to them!
Thats exactly what I have to do... Go one night during the week to practice. I know for sure once I release using my left foot instead of my right it will all fall into place. I just dont understand how this could have spilled into this week. It happened last Sunday & I thought that I would bowl fine last night. I'm lucky I broke 100- thats how bad I was.
I'm not even worried that I'm going to foul anymore, I'm just taking way too many steps for my approach AND releasing using my rigt foot. (I'm a righty).
God I hope I shake this. I'm on a money league and we are in 1st right now with 5 weeks to go.
Thanks!!!!!!!!
Whats your average?

Re: Any bowlers here?
ughh.. i really thought i was the only one who went through this
i feel like we had the exact same situation too.. we were in 1st place too when it happened to me, and like you said, it almost feels like you forget how to bowl! its nuts!
yea i would try the "practice" bowling.. it definitely does help and its better when it doesnt count..
my average is a 165, i had to quit last year because of it being a huge expense, but i hope to join again soon. i miss it like crazy!
whats yours?!

Re: Any bowlers here?
You have a great average!! I'm not nearly as good (132) but my teamates have a 201, 185 & 160 averages. Your right, it is a huge expense, but for us, its a night out so well worth it.
If you lived on SI, I would def say join our league. Its great. Very competative, but tons of fun.
