Toddlers and Tiaras: what do you think of it?

I haven't watched the show because the promos make me cringe. I see these little girls in makeup and crazy outfits, swinging their hips before they should even know what hips ARE, and it makes me sick.

What do you think of beauty paegents for 2 year olds? Or 6 year olds? Or 15 year olds, for that matter???

I personally think it is disgusting. What kind of message is that sending to those little girls about their self worth? And sorry, but all of the sickos and perverts in this world, parading your little girl around made up like a grown up is just asking for trouble.

while I find it disgusting, I am absolutely fascinated by the show- dh and i watched like 4 shows and couldnt believe it- some parents are like you expect but some are only doing it as long as their kids enjoy

me personally, I would never have my kid do that

I watch it bc it's an enormous trainwreck. I feel for these kids though. NOt one of them looks like they are enjoying themselves.

I think it's horrible to sexualize children so early. It's also too much pressure. They should be out playing somewhere not helping their parents bring their own dreams to fruition.

It is a big huge honking trainwreck that I can't stop watching. That guy who runs the "pageant" creeps me out big time - what is his deal?

It's just so wrong in every way.
Gives the children self image problems and lack of self worth if they don't win.

Most of the moms are just living vicariously through their kids. Its ridiculous!

I will never give this show any ratings, I think it is child abuse. I'm not against putting your child in a contest for being CUTE, but the make-up and hair and the extreme measures to make the kids up is bad parenting.

Sometimes I catch "little miss perfect" on TLC and it just seems so odd to me. These crazy mothers put so much pressure on their daughters & get all upset when they don't win... it's really superficial and sad that they are so wrapped up in that type of life.

I too thinkits a little freaky to see these little girls fully made up & hair the size of kansas. Not to mention the puppets they seem to look like. Eerie to me. lol

Most of the moms are nuts, but I did see ONE episode of a mom who only let her daughter wear a little lip gloss and mascara and said that painting her kids face was not right for her family. She didn't practice routines day and night, just wanted her daughter's personality to shine through. Her daughter seemed to really enjoy doing the pageant!

I applauded that mom. The rest should be put in jail.
