Budget conscious newlyweds..what did you do for your honeymoon?

I'm trying to find something on the cheap for our honeymoon. We don't have an outrageous budget but do want to go away for 3 to 4 days. I was thinking a cruise but neither one of us has actually taken one. I am not a big fan of international travel so even something domestic would be helpful. We're getting married in November so I know anything north of the Carolinas will be COLD. I wanted to at least be able to swim, etc.

We went to Disney World and on the Disney cruise. I think a cruise is a great idea. I would research them and see what deals you could get.

we did a carnival cruise- 8 days in the southern caribbean, we stayed in a suite at the south beach marriott for 3 days before and had a balcony suite on the cruise- all for under $1800

We did a 9 day cruise out of NY in the at the end of September. We opted for a balcony room so it ran us about 2400 for the cruise. All in total in think we walk away paying 3500 for the full honeymoon. (this was for drinks, escursions and gifts)

We went to PR for 5days i think airfare and hotel on the beach was $1300.00

But a few months later we went to clearwater Fl for 5 days and got airfare, rental car and hotel ont he beach for $850

We did Disney World and had a blast but it's exhausting! Perhaps going to the keys there restaurants, shopping, beaches!

We're going on a 4 day cruise to Canada out of NY this june - we got a balcony room and it was $379/pp. There were also cheaper rooms available.

Cruises are a GREAT way to travel and their are packages to fit every budget!

I love cruises. I wish I was on one right now.

For part of our honeymoon we did Key West.....HIGHLY recommend

we got married in November as well, and we flew to Ft. Myers Florida (cheap flights on Jet Blue) and spent 4 days at Sanibel Island, FL...it was tons of fun and although it was a bit too chilly to go IN the ocean we were still able to lay on the beach, ride bikes around the island and have a great time

Friends of ours went to Vermont for a few days. It sounded really romantic, and it wasn't very expensive.
