wilton cake course 1 question..
I usually am just a lurker on the boards but had a question on the decorating class. I just called Michaels and they said they are running a special so they classes are very inexpensive. They also saod you have to purchase supplies to go with it. Does anyone have a range of how much this costs and do you have to bring premade baked cakes to the class? I work full time and have two kids nut have always wanted to try this class. Thanks in advance.

Re: wilton cake course 1 question..
For classes 2,3 and 4 of Course 1 you bring a pre-made cake with you.. Most of the decorating (besides basic icing) you will do at the class.
I kept all my receipts from Course 1 and including the Class fee, Course 1 Kit, and various items for the class (cake mix, icing supplies, and other things to help with the cake) It cost me $100.- for the 4 weeks total. I also used the 40% or 50% off coupons on almost everything.
I bought a lot of extra's, like a new cake carrier, all the icing colors, and extra couplers, icing bags, etc.. they have all been well used though.

Same here, I spent about $100 since I bought a toolbox for my tips, extra tips, icing colors, etc. I also used my 50% off coupons. It's worth it though, if you do a lot of baking.
