Could it be stuck in customs? Some countries they have to go to there local PO and pick it up and pay any fees due.

Re: Shipping a package to Italy
Where are you sending it? I have attempted to send things many times to my cousins and sometimes - it just doesn't get there! We have problems ORDERING from stores though, thats when it gets messed up but shipping through a service gets there fine.
The reason is that some of the streets arent "official" in my town. Actually, when we send to my aunt we just put her name and the town. because she doesn't know her address!
So, that may be why they are saying that. Smaller towns still have trouble with things like that.

Re: Shipping a package to Italy
I went to Italy a few months ago to visit my family. Instead of bringing the diapers and all the baby stuff, I shipped it over USPS. We come from a very small town and it made it there in one piece. I would send it USPS, there were no problems.

USPS global priority. i've sent things to pple in england, canada, and australia just fine this way. and its cheaper than UPS/fedex.

Seriously, when I worked in the JFK post office, people would ship EVERYTHING. Food, tires, body parts, ashes. It was lovely in the area where boxes get ripped open.
