Re: fear of infertility
I worry all the time. I had to come off BCP's and every month that I don't "accidentally" get pg I worry in the back of my mind if I'm not getting pg because my body just can't and not because we're being careful. It's irrational, but I can't help it.

I do too ,esp. because I am 33 now! I have no other reason the think this but I'm so scared! And then its like 6 mo. of trying before they declare you having trouble conceiving and you have to go through all this rigamarole. Just need to think good thoughts!!!

Re: fear of infertility
I have been having this fear exactly. I have had at least one known cyst in the past and I have family members (on my mom's side)that had/ were told will have trouble having kids. On top of all this I am having issues with constantly having aunt flo lately, and other cycle issues. Gyno mentioned that I might have fibroids and put me back on the pill after I had intentionally gone off due to other issues. She told me to wait a few months and then I could go for a synogram. DH and I are trying to figure out what to do next. I guess we won't know for sure until we are ready to try.

Re: fear of infertility
I worry about it only because I will be 32 this year and I don't think we will be trying for another year or two due to finances / other stuff. After 35, I've heard it gets much harder ....
I just saw a commercial for a product by one of the home pregnancy test makers that tests your fertility. Not sure how accurate it is - and it's only measuring YOUR fertility, not your DH's - but I may try it soon just to see what it says!

Re: fear of infertility
I def. have this fear. I feel like i won't be able to or will miscarry if I do. THe reason I feel this way is because I'm overweight. I consulted with two OB GYn's and both said that I won't know until I start trying and that they've delivered many babies for plus-sized women.
JESS....thanks for the great info.

PLUS SIZED girl here!!!!!
Being plus sized has NO bearing (almost none) on your ability to have babies!!!!!!!
It may make you more prone to having GD (though i know PLENTY of skinny gals with it too) - but that's about it!!!!
Any ???? - FM me - i'm an OPEN book with regards to this stuff! REALLY!!!

Re: fear of infertility
I know people who were on the pill for 10 years, went off and got pregnant the next month! SO THERE IS HOPE!

Re: fear of infertility
However I do worry too. My mom had no problems getting preggo but had kids at 24, 26 and 31. Is it true that miscarriages can be hereditary?
Ok but my main nervous-ness stems from stories I hear from friends my age (29) or slightly older....many are having problems getting preggo and have had miscarriages. I am scared too but at the same time I am not ready to jump into starting a family yet. I have to let nature take its course. Whos to say i wouldnt have the same problems now that I may have in 2 years. I am just not ready to jump the gun but I do worry about things but will have to deal with it when the time comes!

GD is gestational diabetes. they normally dont' test you for this until weeks 26-28 - but because of my severe family history - they tested me for it at week 16 and 17 (a 1 hour test and then a 3 hour test) and i failed both MISERABLY.... It's a diet change and possible meds (but i'm now almost at week 32 and NOT on any medication)..
