Re: Clomid, Here I Come...Any Tips?

I got my BFP on 3rd month of clomid!! Believe in it.. It will work.
I tried for a year with out it for our 2nd child.
I took 50 mg months 1 and 2. Month 3 I took 100 mg.
Take it at night. I had horrific pains during ovulation time that I went to the hospital.. but its just the clomid enlarging your ovaries so hang in there with it. I also had a terrible lingering headache days 1 and 2. I could actually feel myself ovulating on it-- pretty cool.
Best of luck and lots of baby dustChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Also... I ovulated 3 days later than usual on it.

I am in my first cycle - near the end I think but who knows. I took it days 3-7 - I too took it at night, but didn't notice much in the way of symptoms other than a lot of pains now and then around the ovaries - nothing too terrible. I was really hot in my sleep a lot, but that's actually pretty normal for me so I don't think it was hot flashes - just warmer temps in the apartment Chat Icon

I take it in the afternoon. I was woried about the side effects----even warned DH that they may make me crazy or emotional (he said, so basically you'll be the same as always! Chat Icon).

The pills made me very sleepy but aside from that, no other side effects for me. Today is my last pill and this is my 3rd cycle.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Clomid, Here I Come...Any Tips?

The side effects for me lasted about 2 weeks AFTER I finished the meds. I was surprised that all of the awful effects I had read about hadn't affected me, but they definitely came.

I was very emotional and kinda psycho. I was very dizzy and had headaches. Also, vaginal dryness...

I think my case is on the extreme side, though because many women don't have these effects.

It didn't work from me my first cycle (50mg) because it didn't help me produce any eggs. I never took it again after that because it made me feel so, so horrible.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully I don't have any bad side effects and that it works the first time. I never thought trying for #2 would take so long. Chat Icon

Were you able to take medicine for the headaches? And what about the stomache ache? You didn't just have to suffer through the pain, did you or can't you mix any other meds with clomid?
I have my clomid sitting right here & I'm scared to take it next month.

This is my 2nd month using chlomid CD5-9 and I honestly didn't suffer from any of the side effects if I did I don't remember them or didn't relate them to the meds. I also took them at night just because it was easier for me to take them at the same time each day. I am glad to read that it works best at night!

Dont be scared to take it... The effects are different for everyone. I was able to take 2 advil for the headaches and alternate between that and tylenol.
The stomach pain nothing helped. I went to the hospital because I thought it was my appendix!! After I had sonograms doen they told me its my ovaries enlarged and that I produced 2 large follicles!!! Each month following got easier because mentally I knew how to prepare myself. I was short tempered on it. I wish u the very best and I hope your time on it is short lived!! FM me if you need to talk. Chat Icon

Re: Clomid, Here I Come...Any Tips?

Just finished my clomid cycle last week and really had no side effects. I was looking for them but nothing thank God. The first day I took it the next morning I had a slight headache but took excedrin and it went away. I had a few hot flashes and was tired but nothing that I could not handle. Other than that it was not bad at all. Everyone has different side effects so you really have to tried it for yourself and see if it works for you. I was told to try and stay away from motrin when taking it other than that everything was good to go.
