Losing weight towards the end? UPDATED
I had a doctor's appointment the other day and my weight has kind of plateaued. I may have even lost a pound or two, but nothing severe. I'm 35 weeks, is this normal when you get to the end of your pregnancy? I know the baby is supposed to gain an ounce a week but I wasn't sure if I should be losing???

I think it's normal. I had lost 3lbs at my 37 week appointment, and didn't gain anything again. I delivered at 39 weeks

Re: Losing weight towards the end? UPDATED
I just need to bump this because now I'm completely baffled.
I just had another doctor's appointment, exactly one week later and they weighed me in at over 10 pounds more than last week! Is that even possible? Could it just be that I'm retaining so much water? I find that even far-stretched. Maybe they weighed me incorrectly last time, or (hopefully) this time? Or the scale is off? I dunno, but I'm about to run out and get a scale!

It happens, but towards the end alot of the the weight is water weight so i wouldnt be too worried. I blame part of it on the dr's scales, every time i go im in a different exam room and on a different scale. it also depends on the time of day you go and the clothes your wearing. today it was raining so you may have had wet jeans(well that would be my excuse )

I definitely lost some weight at the end, several pounds. I attributed it to water, because I stopped working and could put my feet up. You could literally see my cankles shrink.

That can happen-it's totally water weight and comes off easily. I know within 2-4 weeks after giving birth to my DD I had lost 25 pounds without even trying because it was all water weight (of course, the other 20 pounds I am STILL working on).

Re: Losing weight towards the end? UPDATED
This is normal. My appetite is down because of severe heartburn so my weight leveled off as well in the end.

My doctor did say she thinks it's water weight because I'm just so swollen. I could literally keep my feet up all day and they still would look like clubs. She asked me f I was experiencing any blurred vision etc. but I haven't experienced anything like that. Again, all I can do is avoid salt, drink gallons of water and lay on my left side.
I just wasn't expecting such a huge gain. It's quite depressing when I was in the norm for weight gain and now all of a sudden it jumped up.

Re: Losing weight towards the end? UPDATED
For DS I did not gain any weight the last 6 weeks of pg. To answer your updated question, I have heard of people gaining 10 lbs in one visit when they did not gain any weight the previous visit. Is your obgyn concerned? If not, don't worry it will come off.
