Incredible thirst...

Is anyone else REALLY thirsty in their first trimester? I am finding that I am soooo thirsty and no matter what I drink I am still thirsty. Nothing seems to quench it. And water doesn't appeal to me like it used to. It's making me crazy! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It's funny, before I got pregnant I used to drink so much water. Now, even though I am dying of thirst, water is so unappealing to me. Chat Icon Probably has to do with the morning sickness.

I was the same way. I couldn't believe how much water I was drinking in the beginning of this pregnancy! Now I have to struggle to drink it because of the acid reflux.

Re: Incredible thirst...

Yes! I was just going to ask about this. Since I've found out I'm PG (Monday) I've been so super thirsty. I've been drinking close to 2 liters a day (TMI -- and needless to say I've been peeing like crazy!)

Re: Incredible thirst...

I remember the extremem thirst in the first tri! Water wasn't cutting it so I drank a TON of orange Gatorade and cran-grape juice. It has subsided now (at 20 weeks)

Re: Incredible thirst...

I have it BAD now. I bring a bottle of water with me wherever I go and am constantly sipping on water. Nothing quenches the thirst like water for me.

Re: Incredible thirst...

I used to get extremely thirsty too. I started drinking a TON of water. I am not a big fan of water by any means but this definitely has helped with my constant thirst. I force myself to drink it mostly for my health as I have sinus issues that allleviate it and I find since I have been drinking a ton of water I am not getting the palpitations I did in my last pregnancy.

My mantra is "Water is good, water is pure, it cleanses out all my toxins.' These are the extremes I have to go to in order to tolerate that tasteless crap!!!!!Chat Icon

Yes! constantly thirsty.

I was drinking water and nothing quenched it. I would finish a bottle a water and 5 minutes later I would be thirsty like I hadn't had a drink in 5 hours.

It definately got better in the second trimester.

I couldn't believe how much water I was downing everyday - and of course the bathroom visits became every 15 mintues because of it! I think the worst was during this second trimester - I just couldn't seem to ever get enough

I always feel really thirsty and dry – my throat and nose always feel dry. And I drink a ton of water all day long.

Re: Incredible thirst...

I cant stop drinking water. Its as if its going out of style or something. I try not to drink sports drinks b/c it the acidic level is too high for me. Plus they are so bad for your teeth.
