How do the approaches of LIIVF and Braverman differ?
Are they similar in approach or different? I am curious about getting a second opinion.

Re: How do the approaches of LIIVF and Braverman differ?
There are way too many variables in each person's situation to even begin to answer that completely. And each individual doctor has his or her own approach as well. I had been seeing Dr. Brenner for years and in the end he disappointed me. After my 2nd failed IVF, he only changed my protocol after my strongly suggesting it. And after my 3rd failed IVF, he wasn't planning to do anything differently; no new testing; no protocol change; nothing. I knew it was time for a different perspective. Brenner just didn't think outside the box.
I've only had the consult with Dr. Braverman and some test results. The proof will be in the pudding. So far, so good, though.

I had the exact same situation. Dr. Braverman did a ton of new tests and I'm now 11w4d pregnant because of Braverman. I haven't gotten this far in years. Totally different experience.

So does Braverman do more testing than LIIVF?
Who has the better stats?

LIIVF stats are really good (they are ranked third in NY for women under 35).
When they talk about the percentage of transfers resulting in live births are they factoring in the number of embryos for each transfer or no?

Re: How do the approaches of LIIVF and Braverman differ?
I honestly do not think you can rely solely on stats.... I went to ECF, my good friend went to LIIVF... we both got pregnant w/ our first IVFS. When we went back to each dr respectively for our FET - hers failed completely, I ended up w/ a very strong BFP ending in a chemical pregnancy. I immediately went to Dr. Braverman b/c I felt in my heart there was something ECF was missing. Dr. B tested me for EVERYTHING under the sun. When I left his office at least I knew there was no stone left unturned. I am now 29 wks pregnant thanks to him (same blasts from previous IVF). My friend, on the other hand, continued w/ LIIVF - no new tests, nothing. She just had her third failed FET and went to Dr. B for a consult. She loved him.
So, w/ all that said - your decision depends on what your IF issues are....

TOTALLY. The biggest dif with Dr. B and LI IVF is that LI IVF has like 3 protocols they use-it is somewhat of a "mill" They also don't do advanced RPL testing so if you have multiple preg. losses you would probably choose Dr. B. On the other hand SIRM(dr. B) is somewhat out of the box and you will hear mixed info on the tests and treatments they provide. But thousands of successfully pregnant women don't lie-I am a succes story of immune treatment-was it what worked? No one can say but I know I felt a LOT more comfortable being on those treatments during my pregnancy

Re: How do the approaches of LIIVF and Braverman differ?
They have very different approached to treatment, there is no question about that. I have gotten PG twice with LI-IVF and was very happy. But, I never suffered recurrent pregnancy loss. I think that if your issues are MF, PCOS or age - LI-IVF is great. At one point, when I was on a short break from LI-IVF, I went for consults with three different RE's and noone had any other protocol ideas from Dr. Kenigsberg's...so I stayed with him and got PG the next cycle.
I will say that if there is a recurrent PG loss issue, Braverman does different testing and treats patients with a different protocol.
I will say that when I went for consults with other RE's - they all had great respect for Kenigsberg and his work.
I will always say that you need to be your own advocate and if you aren't happy with your Dr., you need to consult with other RE's.

Re: How do the approaches of LIIVF and Braverman differ?
I am a LI IVF success story so I guess I am biased. With that said, I think that changing protocols, getting second opinions and even switching RE's is always a good idea if you are not getting results within a few tries of any treatment.
