I know of three people laid off today...it's not the end of them either

I'm sorry to hear that. I have been feeling survivor's guilt for months now (we layed off 20-25 people in the past few months).

Yes it does suck..My brother works for the mta. they had a union meeting the other day..600 people are going to be lay off if the mta doesn't come up with a deal I  for them and my brother. He has two young children.

Yes it does suck. Our company decided today to go to a 3 day work week to avoid layoffs. While I still have a job, I am still taking a 40% pay cut.
