yes!! still waiting - but i kind of have good news i think!!!
the person had 2 mortgages on their house.....so the 1st mortgage approved our offer about 2 weeks ago and we were waiting on the 2nd mortgage....tuesday we found out the second also approved but wants an extra $2,600 - the 1st mortgage says the maximum amount they will give to the 2nd mortgage is 3K - we decided we would come up with the extra money.
so today we will put everything in writing - doing like a contract addendum - then the title agent (there is a title company involved at this point b/c the banks were basically ignoring the realtors) will send that back to both banks/mortgages - we have to make sure that the 1st mortgage is cool with us giving the 2nd mortgage more money....if not, the 2nd mortgage has to take the 3K and lose out on the $2,600 - if they dont want to do that they can basically ruin the deal....
im hoping that the 1st mortgage says they are okay with us giving the 2nd mortgage money on the side....that will be easiest scenario.....then once our offer is officially accepted we will be making a trip down for the inspection which we have 10 days to do!! yikes!!
so more house dust please

U just have to remind urself that the plans that unfold happen for a reason! ..regardless if this one pans out or not.. if some reason it doesnt, KNOW that ur perfect home is out there waiting & THAT'S where u're meant to be  ..and once ur there, u wont be able to imagine owning anything else
but UGH what a process! i am crossing my fingers & saying lots of that if this IS meant to be, that it moves along quickly!

well luckily for us its not a lot of money they are asking.....if it was like 20K we'd be screwed.....but we've been waiting since january and we don't want to lose our dream house over $2,600 - we're nervous b/c there hasn't been ANYTHING else on the market since January in our price range for what we want - so if we don't get this we are screwed b/c there isn't anything else out there that we can afford on DH's salary that has everything we want

ugh, today is so frustrating....
we are trying to get our mortgage broker, REA, and the person at the title agency all on board.....but its just so hectic b/c apparently loan underwriters are saying that what the 2nd mortgage is trying to do is illegal - and they cant ask for more money b/c its "enticement to sell" but nobody can seem to find the literature or law that proves that......DH and I dont care and at this point will pay the $$ but basically our mortgage broker is telling us we cant....and its shady....and people dont want to do shady deals
