Spinal Tap/Lumbar Puncture
I have to have one probably in June and while I am terrified, has anyone had one that can shed some light for me?

I didnt have a spinal tap, but if you ever plan on having a baby and get an epidural or a spinal block it is pretty much the same thing. They numb you with lidocaine and insert the needle. To be honest, I didnt feel it much but it could have been b/c I was so focused on the pain from my contractions. They will withdraw fluid to test later on. I dont think it takes very long.

I had a spinal tap done!!! The anticipation was worse then the actual spinal tap. They numb the area so you don't really feel the needle going in.
It's really not that bad.
