Is there any hope? SAD UPDATE

Hello everyone! I have been lurking for a few weeks now, since I found out I was pregnant but today, I had to come out of my shell to see if anyone had a similar experience to me.

Yesterday, I started spotting a mucus kind of blood, sometimes brown, sometimes pinkish-red. Last night I started cramping bad and passed a few blood clots. At the doctor this morning, I was expecting her to tell me that I was definitely miscarrying but instead, she said I may be, but it also may be ok. The uncertainty is KILLING me.

Apparently the embryo is still in my uterus, but is not as big as she would like to see. She said there is a glimmer of hope so I just have to wait and see.

In the past few hours, my cramps have stopped and I am only bleeding a little. Has this happened to anyone and it turned out ok? Sorry its so long, I am just so nervous.

I don't have experience with this but hope everything works out

There have been so many stories on here with bleeding (good and bad) so its so hard to say, but hopefully your Dr. can give you an answer soon

Unfortunately you can only wait and see. I know the wait is unbearable, but only time will tell. Did your doctor order a repeat visit and sono for next week or week after?

Yes I am going in for another sono in 1 week unless I start bleeding significantly and it is obvious I am miscarrying (in that case I have to go in right away.) The waiting is torture. I just don't know how I can function and go to work like everything is ok!

I didn't really have cramps, but I definitely had a lot of bleeding. I actually thought I had gotten my period! When it only lasted a few days, I thought something was weird, so I took a pg test. Low and behold, I'm now 27 weeks. Don't worry too much yet, you'll just drive yourself crazy.

I think they is hope. It happened to me. TMI WARNING - I was waiting to get ice cream at Baskin Robbins and had GUSHED bright red blood, dripping down my legs, soaking through my clothes, before I even knew what was happening. Went right home and to the bathroom where I saw a few clots as well. I didn't even know I was pregnant at this point because I thought I had a "light" period a few weeks earlier. I went to the doctor the next day, told her what happened, told her I didn't know if I was pregnant or not and she prepared me to see an empty uterus (she did an internal sonogram). Instead, we saw the flicker of a heartbeat and I found out I was 9 weeks pregnant. My was born 29 weeks later . The doctor said it may have been a surge in progesterone levels that caused the heavy bleeding. I am that your story will have a happy ending as well!!!!!!

I bled heavy at about 5 weeks with my dd and bad cramps too. I continued to spot until 20 weeks. She is now 20 months old.

I have been through three miscarriages and have 2 children. Bleeding is not always an indicator of a miscarriage. Honestly I would be more concerned about the size of the fetus, but even that can play a little catch up. You just won't know until your doc calls it. Its so hard to wait and see but you have no choice. Hopefully you will have to wait and see for nine months until you are holding your baby. Good luck.

Thanks so much everyone! I am trying to stay positive and hoping for the best. I really appreciate the kind words and prayers from complete strangers! It really lifted my spirits.

Dont give up hope until you and the Dr are 100% sure.
