Do those watering globes really work?

I have some outdoor ferns that require a step ladder to water them, so using these, if these work would be so much easier.

Re: Do those watering globes really work?

I've never used them, but I would guess that they would work for an indoor plant. I think it also depends on the size of the pot. If the pot is really big the globe might not hold enough water to keep the dirt as wet as needed. Do the globes come in different sizes for different pot sizes? I imagine that during the summer an outdoor plant would need more water than what the globe could store. Especially on really hot days. It seems like more of an indoor plant thing to me. But since I never used one I don't know for sure. Besides, they are pretty and would add some nice color to a green fern plant. If you end up using one, be sure to let us know if they work, and where to find them, it looks like it could be a good and helpful tool.

I was just given these from my nephew & currently have them in my indoor plants. They seem to be working, so we shall see overtime how we do.
