If so,....what time did you get there to get a spot on the beach? Any Parking tips or advice? And was it a constant thing from the start till end? Just trying to prepare to go tommorow with a 2 yr old!
TIA!!!!!!!!!

Re: Did anyone go to the AirShow Today (Sat?)

I went today 7 months pregnant with a 4 year old and it was not that bed. We got there about 9 with a 1/2 wait until the ticket booth. Field 6 has the closest parking to the beach but it was filled by the time we got there. We parked at field 4 and were all the way in the back. Field 4 has all sorts of food booths and the bathrooms are close but we walked a little down away from the crowds and sat on the boardwalk and watched the show. The bathrooms had a ridiclous line so I used the porta pottys. We left about 12 and saw a lot of planes and jets but not the blue angels, I think they finish the show but I wasnt staying until 3. We were out of there with out any trouble. I would suggest to leave early, bring water and snacks and a stroller for your 2 year old and enjoy!!

We went today but we had special parking because we are friends with someone from a fire dept. that was there. Anyway, go early...the traffic getting into the lot was heavy at 9:45. There were a lot of people there but it was fine walking around and finding a spot on the beach to watch the show. It was great! Enjoy!

I went today. We left at 7 and got there with no traffic and no wait to get in. We were at field 6 by the picnic area. We were close to the bathrooms and never waited on line to go. Bring lots of sunscreen- we're burnt to a crisp! Planes start around 10 and go off and on till 3. Thunderbirds go on around 2, but I was a little disappointed with their show this year. We didn't hit traffic leaving around 3. Have fun!

Re: Did anyone go to the AirShow Today (Sat?)

We went today (DS is 2 and a half). We left on the later side, around 9:45, and sat in about 30 minutes of traffic. Not too bad though. We parked in a field further away because the other lots were closed. It actually worked out nicely -it's a smaller lot and very easy to get out of.

My advice would be to get there around 9 or earlier, especially if it is a nice day tomorrow. There's a great playground there for the kids plus inflatable rides on the boardwalk. As another poster said, bring lots of sunscreen - we got burnt as well. The stroller is a biggie as is a cart of some sort to schlep beach chairs, etc.

Have fun if you go! It's a great show.

I go every year..last year went 8months preggo...this year went with 11month old DD...we usually go at the end and pull off on the road, np $$ for parking and come pulled right up, stayed an hour..LOVED IT! and left...DD didn't like the LOUD rumble and we covered her ears but she was smiling at points, I love it but I hear you have to get there at 8am for good spots and parking...we pull up at 1:55 for the Thunderbirds, which is the main highlight and final act and leave by 2:44 Chat Icon Chat Icon

Can I ask where you park-- I tried this once and saw nothing...I really love your plan!

We went to the airport and had a nice lunch at the 56th Fighter Group, watched the planes fly in and out. Watched the Thunderbirds leave and come back and got all their autographs :)

I went last year. It was amazing. We left our house at 830 in the AM and paid tolls to the beach and I believe it was 8 dollars to get in (cant quite remember though). There were spots, but I would suggest getting there early. Have a great day!
